10th year anniversary of scholarships for excellent blind students
The Talking Books for the Blind Foundation celebrated its tenth year anniversary of scholarships for excellent blind students on December 26, 2009. The Vietnam Foundation has been a long-time supporter of this organization, which provides scholarships to blind students with excellent school performances.
Sachnoionline.com, an online audio books for the Blind
After an extensive set-up period, the website Sachnoionline.com (Online Audio Books) for the blind was launched on August 8, 2009. VNF has been engaged in this project from the very beginning. To date, Sachnoionline.com, which hosts more than 200 audio books, has been a success, gaining vast support from many organizations and individuals.
VNF staff study tour to U.S. universities
From July 17 to 29, 2009, VNF staff visited universities in the U.S. to learn about the application and admission procedures for undergraduate programs.
VNF to host a delegation from the University of California, Irvine to Vietnam.
VNF invited a delegation from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) to Vietnam from March 1 to 6, 2009 to examine how English is taught and learned in Vietnam in order to meet the high demand for English education in the American universities by Vietnamese students.
